Return & Refund Policy

Last Updated: 17 July 2026

This Return & Refund Policy applies to products purchased from WASD Computers Pty Ltd (“WASD Computers”, “we”, “our” or “us”) through our retail store, website and other sales channels.

This policy is in addition to, and does not exclude, restrict or modify, any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. Contact Us Before Returning an Item

To request a return, refund, exchange or warranty assessment, please contact WASD Computers before returning or sending any product.

Returns sent without prior approval may be refused or delayed while the return is assessed.

Approved returns must be delivered or sent in accordance with the instructions provided by WASD Computers.

When contacting us, please provide:

• Your name and contact details
• Your order number, receipt or other proof of purchase
• The product name and serial number, where applicable
• The reason for the return
• Photographs or other information reasonably required to assess the request

2. Australian Consumer Law

Products sold by WASD Computers come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy where a product:

• Is faulty or unsafe
• Is not of acceptable quality
• Does not match its description
• Is not fit for a purpose disclosed before purchase
• Does not meet another applicable consumer guarantee

The remedy available will depend on the nature and severity of the issue and the requirements of the Australian Consumer Law.

Any time limits, condition requirements, restocking fees or exclusions applying to change-of-mind returns do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

3. Proof of Purchase

Proof of purchase is required before a return, refund, exchange or warranty claim can be processed.

Acceptable proof of purchase may include:

• A tax invoice or receipt
• An online order confirmation
• A bank or card statement showing the transaction
• A customer account record held by WASD Computers

We may also verify the product using its serial number or our sales records.

4. Change-of-Mind Returns

WASD Computers may accept change-of-mind returns at our discretion when requested within 14 days of purchase or delivery.

To qualify for consideration, the product must generally be:

• Unused and in resaleable condition
• Complete with all original accessories, manuals and packaging
• Free from physical damage, marks, modification or signs of installation
• Accompanied by valid proof of purchase

Approval of a change-of-mind return is not guaranteed.

We may inspect and test the product before approving a return, exchange, store credit or refund.

Change-of-mind returns may be declined where a product cannot reasonably be resold as new.

5. Opened Products and Restocking Fees

Where an opened product is accepted for a change-of-mind return, a restocking fee of up to 10% may apply to reflect reasonable inspection, testing, repackaging and reduced resale-value costs.

A higher deduction may apply only where agreed with the customer and reasonably reflects missing accessories, damaged packaging, reduced condition or other loss in value.

No restocking fee will apply where the product is returned because it is faulty, unsafe, misdescribed or otherwise fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee.

6. Products Generally Excluded From Change-of-Mind Returns

Change-of-mind returns may not be available for:

• Special Order Items sourced specifically for a customer
• Custom-built or specially configured computers
• Software licences, activation keys and digital products once supplied, revealed, downloaded or activated
• Products that have been installed, modified, damaged or used
• Products missing original packaging, accessories, manuals or components
• Clearance, ex-display or used products where the relevant condition was disclosed before purchase
• Consumable products where the packaging has been opened
• Products affected by hygiene, security or licensing restrictions

These exclusions apply only to change-of-mind requests and do not limit any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Custom-Built Computers

Custom-built computers are assembled to specifications agreed with the customer and are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns once components have been ordered, allocated or assembly has commenced.

Where WASD Computers approves a change-of-mind cancellation or return, reasonable costs already incurred may be deducted, including:

• Supplier restocking fees
• Non-refundable Special Order Items
• Assembly or disassembly labour
• Software or licence costs
• Reduced value of opened or installed components

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available where a custom-built computer or associated service fails to comply with the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Faulty Products and Warranty Assessments

Where a product is believed to be faulty, WASD Computers may inspect, test or arrange an assessment of the product before determining the appropriate remedy.

Customers may be asked to provide details about:

• The fault or symptoms
• The hardware and software environment in which the product was used
• Installation or configuration
• Troubleshooting already performed
• Any modifications, damage or previous repairs

Where the issue is minor, we may offer a repair within a reasonable time.

Where the issue is major, the customer may be entitled to choose a replacement or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

Products may be referred to the manufacturer, distributor or authorised service agent for testing or repair where appropriate. However, WASD Computers remains responsible for providing remedies required under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. No Fault Found and Excluded Damage

A return or warranty claim may not be approved where testing shows that the product is functioning normally and the issue was caused by circumstances including:

• Incorrect installation or configuration
• Incompatible hardware or software
• Misuse, neglect or accidental damage
• Liquid, impact, electrical or physical damage
• Unauthorised modification or repair
• Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
• Malware, corrupted software or operating-system issues
• Inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the customer

Where no product fault is found, reasonable diagnostic, labour or return-shipping charges may apply where disclosed and permitted by law.

10. Return Shipping and Transport Costs

Customers are responsible for the cost and risk of returning products for an approved change-of-mind return.

Products should be securely packaged to prevent damage during transport. WASD Computers is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate return packaging.

Where a product is confirmed to have a fault or other failure covered by the Australian Consumer Law, WASD Computers will cover or reimburse reasonable return costs where required by law.

We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service for valuable products.

Original delivery charges are not generally refundable for change-of-mind returns. Delivery charges may be refunded where required under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Refund Method and Processing

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Where this is not reasonably possible, another refund method may be arranged with the customer.

Refunds will be processed after the returned product has been received, inspected and approved.

Financial institutions and payment providers may take additional time to display a completed refund.

Shipping, payment-processing or other costs will only be deducted where permitted by law and applicable to an approved change-of-mind return.

12. Exchanges and Store Credit

Where agreed, WASD Computers may offer an exchange or store credit instead of a refund for an approved change-of-mind return.

Any additional amount required for a higher-priced replacement product must be paid before the replacement is supplied.

Where a customer is entitled to a refund under the Australian Consumer Law, we will not require the customer to accept store credit instead.

13. Incorrect or Damaged Deliveries

Customers should contact WASD Computers as soon as reasonably possible if an order:

• Contains an incorrect product
• Is missing an item
• Arrives visibly damaged
• Appears to have been damaged in transit

Please retain the product, packaging and delivery materials and provide photographs where reasonably requested.

Do not dispose of the product or packaging until we have provided instructions, as these may be required for assessment or a carrier claim.

14. Manufacturer Warranties

Some products may include a manufacturer’s warranty.

Manufacturer warranties operate in addition to, and do not replace, rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Customers may contact WASD Computers for assistance with a valid consumer guarantee claim even where a manufacturer also provides warranty support.
