Custom PCs
Custom PCs Built Around What You Actually Need
At WASD Computers, every built-to-order PC is planned around your budget, intended use and performance requirements.
Whether you need an affordable home computer, a gaming PC, a powerful workstation or a high-end showcase build, we can help you choose the right components and create a balanced system without unnecessary spending.
All custom PCs are assembled, configured and tested locally at our Mayfield store.
Why Choose a Built-to-Order PC?
A built-to-order computer gives you more control over the parts, appearance, performance and future upgrade options than many off-the-shelf systems.
Instead of paying for features you do not need—or receiving lower-quality components hidden inside a prebuilt—we help select parts that suit the way you will actually use the computer.
Your system can be tailored around:
- Your preferred games and resolution
- Work, study or business software
- Content creation and productivity
- Storage requirements
- Noise and cooling preferences
- Case size and appearance
- RGB lighting and colour themes
- Future upgrade plans
- Your overall budget
Gaming PCs
We build gaming PCs for a wide range of budgets and performance targets.
Whether you are playing competitive esports titles, modern AAA games, racing simulators, virtual reality or heavily modded games, we can recommend a suitable processor, graphics card, memory and storage configuration.
We can plan systems for:
- 1080p gaming
- 1440p high-refresh-rate gaming
- 4K gaming
- Competitive esports
- Streaming and recording
- Virtual reality
- Simulation games
- High-end showcase builds
Our focus is on creating a balanced system rather than overspending on one component while limiting performance elsewhere.
Home and Office Computers
Not every customer needs a gaming system.
We also build reliable computers for everyday home use, study, administration and business applications.
A custom home or office computer can be configured for:
- Internet, email and general use
- Microsoft Office and business software
- Remote work
- Accounting and point-of-sale software
- Multi-monitor setups
- Photo storage and family use
- Quiet operation
- Long-term reliability
These systems can be built with practical components and clear upgrade options, without unnecessary gaming features.
Workstations and Content-Creation PCs
For more demanding workloads, we can design systems around the software and tasks you use most.
This may include:
- Video editing
- Photo editing
- 3D modelling and rendering
- CAD applications
- Music production
- Software development
- Virtual machines
- Data processing
- Local AI workloads
- Professional multi-monitor setups
Workstation recommendations are based on the specific applications you use, as different programs may benefit from different processors, graphics cards, memory capacities and storage configurations.
Choose Your Style
A custom PC can be designed to suit your workspace, gaming setup or personal style.
Available options may include:
- Black or white builds
- Compact systems
- Minimal non-RGB designs
- RGB lighting
- Glass display cases
- Air cooling
- Liquid cooling
- Colour-matched components
- Cable-management upgrades
- Showcase components and displays
Component availability varies, but we can help create a consistent design while keeping performance and reliability as the main priorities.
How the Process Works
1. Tell Us What You Need
Let us know your budget, intended use, preferred games or software, appearance preferences and any parts you already own.
You do not need to know which components to choose—we can guide you through the options.
2. Receive a Custom Quote
We prepare a recommended specification based on your requirements.
The quote will clearly list the proposed components, pricing and expected performance level. Alternative options can be discussed before the build proceeds.
3. Approve the Build
Once the quote is accepted and the required deposit or payment has been made, the components are allocated or ordered.
Special-order components may require payment in full before ordering.
4. Assembly and Testing
Your PC is assembled, cable-managed, configured and tested at our Mayfield store.
Testing includes system stability, temperatures, hardware operation and basic performance checks.
5. Collection and Support
Once complete, we will contact you to arrange collection.
We can also help with initial setup, data transfer, peripherals, monitors and future upgrades.
What Is Included?
A typical WASD Computers custom build includes:
- Professional assembly
- Cable management
- BIOS configuration
- Windows installation where included
- Driver installation
- System updates
- Hardware and stability testing
- Temperature checks
- Basic performance verification
- Warranty support
- Advice on setup and future upgrades
The exact inclusions may vary depending on the quoted system and operating-system requirements.
Bring Your Own Components
We may also be able to assemble or upgrade a system using components you already own.
Existing parts must be inspected for compatibility and condition before assembly. We cannot guarantee the reliability of customer-supplied components, and additional diagnostic charges may apply where supplied hardware is faulty or incompatible.
Speak with us before purchasing parts independently so we can help avoid compatibility problems.
Clear Advice Without the Upsell
More expensive does not always mean better for your needs.
We explain where spending extra money is likely to provide a noticeable benefit and where it may not. Our goal is to create the best overall system for your budget—not simply the most expensive configuration.
Build Timeframes
Build times depend on component availability, special-order items and current workload.
Systems using available stock may be completed relatively quickly, while specialised or high-end builds may take longer. An estimated timeframe will be provided with your quote.
All quoted completion times are estimates and may change if supplier stock or delivery times change.
Warranty and Support
WASD Computers custom-built PCs include warranty support for the complete system, subject to the terms provided with your quote and purchase.
Individual components are also covered by their applicable manufacturer or supplier warranties.
If a problem occurs, you can bring the system back to our Mayfield store so we can assess the complete computer rather than requiring you to diagnose each component yourself.
